Google recently announced Android O, the next version of Android and the first developer preview is already available for download. The latest version is primarily focused on notification management, power management and many other small changes and UI changes that enhance user experience. It also comes with many new APIs, which developers can use to provide users a richer and better experience through their apps. The first developer of Android O is strictly for preview developers and Google is not releasing it for its consumers through its Android Beta program. Instead, it has released the factory images of the OS for compatible Nexus and Pixel devices.

Android O: Things to Know
If you have enrolled your device in the Android Beta program, it is important to note that beta updates are not supported in the Android O Developer Preview. Also, for this process, you need to unlock your device’s bootloader, which will delete all user data.

- Download Android O System Image for your Device from Here.
- Install ADB and Fastboot Driver On your PC.
- Make sure USB Debugging Mode is Enabled. To do that follow the below instruction
- Open Settings> About> Software Information> More.
- Then tap “Build number” seven times to enable Developer options. …
- Go back to the Settings and now you’ll be able to see “Developer options” there.
- Tap it and turn on USB Debugging from the menu on the next screen.

Steps to Install Android O on Google Pixel and Nexus Devices
Step 1. First, Extract the Android O system image. Now, Inside the extracted folder, you will find another ZIP file, Extract that as well.
Step 2. After Successfully extracted all the files make sure to move them to the ADB Fastboot folder which you have downloaded earlier.
Step 3. Now launch the “flash-all.bat” file from the ADB Fastboot folder. This file should open up Command Prompt.
Step 4: Connect your device to your PC using the USB cable. To make sure Fastboot is working fine and your device is detected properly, to check your device type below command.
Step 5: Now, run the below command to flash the Android O Developer Preview Factory image onto your device.
The script will automatically flash the complete contents of the latest Android O Developer Preview on your device.
[Alternative Way] Occasionally, there are possibilities of throwing errors during execution of the above batch file. In that case, run the following commands one by one in the command window:
fastboot flash boot boot.img fastboot flash recovery recovery.img fastboot flash system system.img
After the process is complete, the device will reboot automatically. If it is not, reboot manually.
