Sometimes, you want to see your Android smartphone’s screen on your PC. How do you do that? Well with the help of an easy to use Chrome extension and Android app called Vysor, you can display and interact with that Android device right from your desktop. This means you can type from your desktop keyboard and work much more efficiently.
Why mirror your screen?
There are plenty of reasons. Suppose you might be a developer in the middle of coding and want to check your app without having to constantly reach for your phone. You might wish to share your photos on a giant screen without uploading them. Or you might need to display a presentation quickly whereas the projector is connected to a laptop. Suppose you’re been using your computer when a friend randomly decides it’s time to start up a text message conversation? You usually have to stop what you’re doing on the desktop, then go pick up your smartphone and respond to the text. Control You Device Through PC (Google Chrome)
Before we begin, you’ll need to make sure USB debugging is enabled in your smartphone settings. And to do that, you must first ensure developer options is enabled.
- Go to Settings > About phone and tap Build number seven times. Congratulations, you’re not a developer.
- Now, return to your settings menu and Developer options will appear at the bottom; tap it.
- The USB debugging mode option will be found in that menu, so make sure you enable it before continuing.
After this, on Windows, you Need to install ADB android drivers. You also need to install the Vysor app on your Android smartphone download it from Google Play but it will be installed automatically when you connect your smartphone.
Once the extension and ADB drivers have been installed, plug your smartphone into your computer with a USB cable and select “enable USB debugging” on your device when prompted.
- Once connected, launch the Vysor app from the Chrome Apps button. When the Vysor app opens, click on Find Devices.
From the discovery window, you can select the image quality for your device. If you prefer Vysor to run more quickly, select 500Kbps. You can go all the way up to 2Mbit, which will display a high-quality image, but will slow the responsiveness of the connection between phone and desktop dramatically.
- Next, After you’re device prompted, choose the device to be displayed and click Select.
After a while, the screen of your smartphone will automatically appear on your computer (this is what is called the mirror screen). That’s it now you can operate your Android Device in a window on your monitor.
